Maastricht - Liege - Namur - Dinand - Givet - Riviere - Huy - Maastricht
Individual or group vacation on the luxuriously appointed hotel ship Miro, including bicycles. Your adventure begins on the authentically restored in 2005 motorised salon yacht Miro and encompasses a dynamic Boat and Bike Holliday through three countries. The tour begins in Maastricht in the Pietersplas harbour close to the congress centre, the historical city where the peace treaty was signed. The route takes you through the breathtaking and welcoming Waalse Maas Valley, a gorgeous historical landscape situated between the Netherlands and France.
”Italy
begins in Maastricht”,
claim the Limburgers,”
because the sun shines here twice as much as in the rest of the Low Countries”.
The tour takes you through beautiful old cities, villages and scenic landscapes.
You’ll bike through the Route Ravel, an adventure-filled, almost completely
flat, well-signposted and lit bike- and walking route with first-class bike
paths. The historical city Liege, also known as “Little Paris on the Maas”
twinkles at you from the horizon. A city full of parks and gardens with a rich
industrial history and the world-renowned Sunday market La Batte. The tour takes
you via Huy and it’s impressive fort ”Li Tchestia” to the capital city of
Wallonia, Namur, a breathtakingly pretty city with a rich heritage.

Namur is situated at the junction of the Sambre and the Maas rivers. Don’t
forget to climb the very grand and mighty Citadel and make sure to pay the
chocolate makers in the centre of town a visit! The trip follows the mighty Maas
(also known as la Meuse) in a southerly direction and treats you to gorgeous
vistas and fairytale castles along the riverbanks. On your way to Dinand, you
will pass sights that are well worth a visit, such as the many abbeys and
cloisters, coppersmith’s workshops and the medieval castle ruins of Poilvache.
Once in Dinand you cannot miss the marvellous citadel, a wondrous crowning
glory. This military bulwark offers you an unparalleled historic perspective.
Also the nearby stalactite caves are well worth seeing. On the way to Givet in
France you pass the early Roman church of Hastiere and the famous Château Freyr,
also known as Versailles on the Maas.
The
salon yacht Miro,
your

reading in a deliciously comfortable chair on deck. And of course there is
always time for a visit to a museum during the day, or for painting the town red
at night.
